Well between bad lighting, bad angles and my crappy camera on my phone, mixed with my terrible photagraphic skills I managed some half a** pics haha. I post pictures on here of my MDing finds and it sure is easier taking a picture of a coin or a ring than a rock.. haha.. ill attempt some better pics later.

So! Anyways the other weekend my girlfriend and I took a trip to a spot in montana my gramps told me about, and we had a blast on the rockbars!

Enjoy the pics.. if you can. Ha. They aren't very good.

This is a select few That I found... Here's my attempt at getting some good pics of my "montana" fairburn. Its roughly a 10lb agate. I think its a good one. And my favorite find, about a half pounder. My gramps is an agate buyer and seller so ill know if it is this weekend when I meet him in SD to chase some"real" fairburns.

Zee, if you are taking those pics with a cell phone, then the
lens is covered in dirt, or has a film over it. Quick cleaning with
a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water will fix that right up.

Unless you have an Iphone 4 or above, then you're far better off
taking images with a compact digital camera. As a rule, cell phones
take lousy pics, so it's not just you.

Did my best to clean up a couple of them, but there really wasn't
much I could do.

Thank you. The terrible pictures do them no justice.

Very nice finds. Thank you for sharing. Way to go finding a ~10 lb one. Close to my largest agate find (9.75 lb).

No kidding, was it a superior?

My 9.75 one is probably a lake superior agate because it was found here, though it is not very nicely banded and doesn't have the classic look. There are patches of banding, some moss and some matrix, it has everything from gray, purple, yellow, white, but not much of the classic red color. It is nice but my favorite agate find is actually considerably smaller (3/4lb with nice red-white banding).

Oh ok, gotcha. My family has a gravel pit and I get some pretty good ones out of there. But the biggest superior I've ever found is probably less than 1/4lb. I have lots of them but never a big one.

Cool Zee, keep looking in that gravel pit. There are bound to be larger ones around. Gravel pits are gold mines for agate collectors. :)
