I see a lot of guys posting pics of their finds and realized I never posted any, well, except for that scientific fish detection thing I found that belonged to the University of Delaware, which I returned. I know I had pics on the hard drive of my old PC that I’m about to replace. I’ll be building a new PC, so I’ve been going through my files to see what I want to keep or delete and came across some pics I took of some of my beach finds.

I know I probably have more, but I’ll start with these. Most of these were dated in Aug 2012 or Jan 2013. I didn’t take pics of most of my hunts but if I had the time after cleaning the finds, I might snap a few. BTW, sorry for the low quality of these pics but it was 2012 / 2013. These were taken by a Cannon Digital Camera that I bought my wife for Valentine’s Day. That camera was great back in the day, but compared to the camera in my cell phone, it’s an antique, lol.

I also included a pic of a really nice Conch shell that I found while detecting. I always say that treasure comes in many forms, and this one was gorgeous. My wife loves seashells, so I popped it into my pouch and gave it to her when I got back from the beach. She wasn’t interested in the coins and jewelry I found, but she sure zeroed in on that Conch shell really quick.

And speaking of different forms of treasure, you’ll notice a couple miniatures of Jack Daniels above the Conch shell. Those are the wife's. She liked drinking JD, which I don’t, I was more of a Seagram’s 7 & Bacardi 151 guy, but I sure do love JD because for me, JD was a different type of treasure map. In other words, when my wife drank JD, it would lead to me experiencing one of my favorite forms of treasure, if ya know what I mean, lol.

Keep all your files organized. Mine go back to the mid 1980's. I am now starting to digitize all my 110, 128 and 35mm photos. Not an easy task.
Enjoyed the photos.

Thanks WW, glad you enjoyed. I built this PC about 14 years ago and keep everything organized in its own folder. Problem is, my 14-year old PC has hundreds & hundreds of folders, a couple hundred thousand files and I'm now 14 years older and trying to remember what folder, sub folder, sub sub folder I put this or that in becomes the issue, lol.

How are you digitizing your photos? Are you scanning photos one at a time on a scanner/printer and then saving them on your PC? My dad has dozens of photo albums that my grandparents & my mom passed down with photos that go all the way back to the 20's & 30's. I'd like to get them digitized before they fade away.

I've had good luck using VueScan. It can scan the whole album page at a time, you just mark out which areas to save as photos. It doesn't help with the organizing, but it does make the scanning easier. If your album pages are removable, they will lay nice and flat on the scanner. No need to take the photos out of the album if the pages will lay flat.

Thanks for that. All the old pics of my family are in 3 ring picture binders. The pics are behind plastic on each page, both front and back.
