I took these as I was in the area of Ft Calhoun Nebraska this week. Not the greatest pictures, as it was very overcast and drizzly sky's, but I did get to wake up to the sounds of an awesome Midwest thunder storm early last Wednesday morning. The sounds of all the birds in these thick hardwood forests is something I sure enjoyed and I haven't seen a whitetail deer in a while. This one I got a picture of started to run away, but became very curious and started walking back towards me when I make my unique Magpie bird sound. She quickly decided it wasn't worth investigating and turned back and ran off with the other one into the woods. I've got one more thing to do here in Iowa and then I'll head west across the Missouri River at the point of Nebraska City and then across the great plains and be home tonight I'm hoping. It's all blue sky's over Walnut, Iowa this morning.
