✅ SOLVED Some Sort Of Pipe?

I dug this in a park that was established in 1885 in a small town near Boston Ma. Stuck it in my pouch thinking it was another dirt encrusted piece of copper tubing. As I cleaned out my pouch later that day I noticed the the shape and looked closer and saw the birds that are on it. I feel sure it had a mouth piece and maybe an additional larger bowl. Who knows?

It does look a lot like a piece of a Japanese kieseru pipe: antique kiseru pipe - Google Search
The crane (bird) design fits well with this idea.

I think as usual nhBenz has i.d.'d it correctly, even showing a newer example scaled next to a penny with the same bevel inside the bowl. Nice find.

Thanks guys. I wish I had known to look for the rest of it but I found it about 900 miles north of home. If I get back up there sometime I'll see if I can come up with the other piece.

It is an opium pipe tip... they would have bamboo shaft... usually with Ivory mouth piece. G.I.s brought them back... many were used here in states for marijuana.

That is what I thought also....A bunch of us had them in our younger days for smoking marijuana. We called them Chinese one-y pipes because they only held enough for one hit....lol
