Keep up the work, the longer you are at it the better you will get.
Just like reading the stream. To learn where the yellow stuff will fall out.
When I first started, I would pick a promising spot to work and come up short.
The next time out I hit pay dirt only 15' up stream from said spot during extreme low water.
Taught me to read the stream better.
If you have a big area to work, take the time to do some sample panning in different spots.

keep it up astro,it will be easier as you go .you will hit good color .it's there.don't get discouraged-last few trips i made i found skunks!but you have to search for the good areas.if it was easy every body would do this.takoda done his homework ,research and a LOT of hard work -it paid off .yours will to .last year i hit a couple of good spots-the first one i did with just a pan and shovel-and done better than 4 or 5 trips dredging!so every dog has his day.your's is coming! :headbang:

I've had my share of skunk hunts too Strick . Actually more than my share in my opinion . We both know .... Tis the nature of the beast . I doubt the Strick will go without for very long . I wish I could go everyday . I don't think I've ever had a passion for any other extracurricular activity like I do for hunt'in this damn gold . Don't know why .... just do . I view it like an outdoor sport kinda . And as such ..... I have found it to be more challenging and more exciting than any I have ever done . May you kill the skunk soon . :icon_thumright:

IT'S THE THRILL OF THE HUNT>that's why we get the rush!the backaches, and all those other aches-don't stop me!(just slow me down a little -the next day)astro has it dialed in now-the focus, determination, instinct will take over.good luck astro-we want some more pics.of that purty s.c. gold. i started the same way,as did all of us.a little at a time,it all adds up!

Congrats to you Astrobouncer !!! A well deserved find , you have put in a lot of time and effort and I am glad to see it is starting to pay off. Still looking for that first bit of color in my pan, but always encouraged when I read about someone else's success.
