I believe this to be a vintage brass cattle ear tag. Maybe? Take care

Probably one of these 3 things. Ear tag (as mentioned), tool tag, or a coal miners tag (my choice).

i was going to say the same about a tool tag as ive used many,do not remember any cow fields in hurricane ,but remember cooking many meals for the ones who go there to watch the dogs run.
