Something has been digging in the mulch around my broccoli plants. Caught Ya Woodcock.

Great photo! Thanks for sharing.

Great pic. Difficult to get a good pic of that bird. They pass through here in spring and fall and spook easily. Gary

Lucky to get a good picture of one of those. Last one I saw was along the Missouri River around Ft Calhoun Nebraska. I went hunting in Iowa for them, but only saw one fly quickly away and I never got a shot off. I thought it better to just stick with Pheasant where they fly into a unobstructed sky and not towards the woods where you loose sight of them.

We have few of them on the property. Fun to hear and watch them during mating season.

They blend into the landscape pretty good , its like he has a camo suit on

Timberdoodle! Great picture. They are beautiful little birds.

Gotta love a bird that loves digging as much as many of us do.
I wonder how many silver dimes it has pushed aside for the tasty worm beneath?
To each their own treasures....

Never thought about silver dimes. I better check. Thanks

Gorgeous bird, and a perfect example of how different critters evolve
to live in their own, unique environment. The orange in the tail feathers
is nearly a perfect match for the leaves on the ground.

Factory installed camo...:occasion14:
