Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Like most here, I've put in my time and done my reading. I for some reason just can't run and gun like some do at the beach.. First off, finding and then paying for parking then walking to the beach to see conditions and then going back to get your gear just isn't for me....So normally I make a game plan in my head and then put all the cards on the table. I pay for a block of hours and I stay put and try to locate a giving spot at that beach... It doesn't always pay to be stubborn but sometimes it just does... yesterday, I found on spot in about a mile of beach that was slightly deeper AND had a shell bottom... and wouldn't you know it, the second target was this ring......18k, 7.7 grams.... that one almost makes up for the past three weeks without gold... Be on the lookout for subtle changes when conditions aren't good..... GL and HH all Cliff

So that is what a gold ring looks like. Congrats

Nice work, yeah some times a lil will do ya...

I'm starten to think along those lines also. That's a SWEET piece! :occasion14: :occasion14:

that is really nice!! glad you found something...I'm getting very discouraged here!

Nice 18k...love when I find those shell bottoms...congrats.

Excellent find! I slowed down my hunt today and it paid off in more finds!

Nice goin' on that gorgeous gold ring find, Cliff:wav:

I also like to have a game plan before I get to a beach, and then once there, I decide what definite part (s ) of the beach I will hunt, and in which order; otherwise I would find myself just aimlessly walking those "muddy flats"( which I have done on occasion when my mind is not in an organized mood )..hate when that happens:BangHead:

Lo

having a plan helps--I print out the tide for the month--then can plan for early or evening hunts--look for the moon table for extra tide change---weekend for more people at the beach--I personaly like to hunt when the beach is not busy. bring cool drinking water and a gallon of water to get the sand of my feet and maybe a snack to enjoy on the ride home--things go better with planning. like spare battery, bug spray , hand towell.
every day is a gift to be enjoyed

Well Done Cliff. Papa
