No pics of my wife and Hercules today, as it was tool cold for them, and they stayed in the vehicle most of the time. :laughing7:
This hunt is from another of my old faithful sites that have been kind to me over the last 30 years.
Sometimes I can wander around here for 5 hours, and not even get a signal. They are few and far between anymore, but the chance is always there....and they coins are always OLD when they do pop out!
Everything here is deep, everything is old, and I assume because of a heavy concentration of fertilizer over the years... the silver comes out with a cool, coal black tarnish to it. We've pulled over 30 seated coins from here over the years, and a ton of Barbers.
The indians almost always come out janky and crusty...but still a blast to find.
All of these today were 8"+ deep.
Two of the indians were at 8", one was at 9", and the sweet old black Barber was at a measured 10" deep.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice silverfreak! I'd like to see the coins cleaned up too. Please.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Looks like a fun hunt for you. Some nice keepers that were hiding deep....but not deep enough for your coil.
Congrats!

Great day! Congrats

Love the look of a lightly wiped Indian....very nice.

Beautiful finds SF. I love the toning on that barber!!

Thanks, friend.

Thanks. It has been a fun place over the years.

Thanks, Tuberale. To be honest, I don't clean them in any way. The silver coins, I just run warm water over them. Same for the most part on indians...especially from this site. About 1 out of every 10 indians I've found here, warrants more than warm water. In those rare cases, I'll work 'em a little.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!
Thanks, my friend.

Thanks. Yep, I love this place. No junk in the ground either...so you can really concentrate on deep chirps.

Great day! Congrats
Thanks, Mike.

Thanks, friend. Me too..especially if the soil has been kind.

Thanks, my friend. Me too. A little warm water rinsed over it..and I leave it just like that.

Nice job pulling those beauties out from the deep my friend! I've been using my buddy's Nox 600 and, although I feel my Explorer goes deeper, I'm finding lots of coins with or right near junk that the SE Pro missed- kind of torn, but figure it's a win/win. Don't know if you've used one yet, but I know you'll do great if you do. Keep posting the awesome finds!

Lookin' good Bryce!! I Love that first pic, patina is perfect :icon_thumleft:

That’s one black Barber Bryce! I have a ball field that does the same thing in one corner, and I think it’s because these coins I’ve found(3 dimes and a Stander) are sitting in soil where they drain the city pool out into. Chemicals of some kind are causing this, and I think you’re onto something with fertilizer as well...all the copper in there is ROASTED!
One of the most satisfying things about this hobby is to go somewhere that you know is close to “outta gas” and STILL be able to pull ANYTHING....and nothing but a great machine and experience are going to get you what you want. You know that whole “rather be lucky than good” thing? Not so much anywhere up here.
Nice work on the persistence and keepers!:icon_thumleft:

Heck of a spot. Nice finds.

Nice finds and a beautiful barber to boot!!!

Thanks, my friend. I have not tried the nox, but have thought about it...especially for my wife. I already have a ctx 3030 that I don't use much. Do you think the nox would be better next to trash than the ctx?

Thanks, my friend. I agree with you 100% about luck. It's more about knowing your machine, and interpreting the signals you get. Prety cool that you have a site where silver comes out black as coal too. I LOVE the look of silver like that! Take care

Heck of a spot. Nice finds.

Thanks, friend. You have been making some sweet finds as well!

Nice old finds....
Thanks, friend.

Congrats on the old coin finds! :icon_thumright:

Never used a CTX buddy, but I've taken this Nox 600 to a park I've hunted at least 300 times, (many others have lots of hours on this park as well), and I've popped out a couple of Barber dimes, both in holes right next to nails, 9 Indians, a 45-S War nickel and 32 wheats- simply can't believe I missed all that, and I've found 5 more silver coins and additional old nickels and pennies at a couple of other parks near Boston that I thought I might have cleaned out- As a devout SE Pro user, I don't impress easily, but I'm very impressed with this machine. Plus, as 60 approaches, this machine is so light I can hunt for a full day instead of being beaten up by my SE after just a few hours. Happy Thanksgiving my friend!

Nice job on the old coins Silverfreak. I like the Gray toning on that Barber. I have found some like that, and put them right into my album that way. Don't like to shine them up, I like to remember them the way they came out of the ground.
