Thomas Jefferson Connelly born in Long Gully ST Just Point . his father was an american from cornish decent .His family worked the coal mines of Pennsylvania and married a cornish woman.Named after the U.S president.lawyer by trade and became the Mayor of Sandhurst [bendigo] at the age of 29.St Just Point had a huge cornish population and most worked the deep quarzt gold mines in the area.Cornish miners had family in cornwall, Pennsylvania and Victoria [Sandhurst] i clear evidence from research that plenty of people came here from Pennsylvania and some went from here to there.this amazing connection went on from 1852 till 1920.Connelly was the most famous that i could find.Seem some left a nice silver for me to find. ;D ;D ;D.other names include Heeps Derwent Ellis all very Corny hahahahahh Will get a list of names from graveyard trust and bet some will match to coal miner graves of Pennsylanvia.gee i could be related to Geff of pa hahahahh.Heres my only silver american coin found for the year.Pic of mayor of Sandhurst.Seems the world was as far a part a 100 years ago.

Another great post Tinpan! That Barber Quarter is in awesome condition, congrats and HH, Mike

:o Congrats, Tin Pan. A Barber quarter in that shape is hard to find over here in the U.S. let alone over where you hunt. Great find! Who knows, maybe wih a little resurch your kin folk might have come from good old Pennsylvania. HH hope you find more U.S. silver!

DADDY ! YOU'VE COME HOME !! ;D :D ;D

Great Finds & Story Tin.

I'd like to see those Names.
Cornwall, Famous for the Cornwall Iron Furnace, in Lebanon
county is a short Distance South of me.
Being Coal Miners in that area , I would Presume,
They worked in Schuylkill County, And most Likely
within a Mile of me. Maybe even in the Lincoln Tunnel.

Great hunt there, Partner. Keep up the storytellin' too.
Thanks for sharing.

Smiles!
