Found this the other day , if my reserch its true
Bench mark [ G W Simmons and Son Boston] from 1830 - 1896
Made swords and buttons . Buttons did not have bench mark till post Civil War.
Sorry about the pic , scan capital S over V [ Sons of Civil War Veterans] Cuff button i think
