Was told the house was built in 1913, but the basement was apparently added in 60's judging from the tools and junk I'm finding.

They expanded the original foundation, and had to cut down two trees, but left the stumps. Crawled under to the first one and found three square nails sitting on the dirt! Gonna go back with detector and longer extension cord tomorrow.

Basement finds: 2004 dime, shattered cast iron pipe, two small keys, a chunk of lead (1lb), 1 square nail, small buckles, sharpening stone,.doo-dads and doo-hickies

Basement trash: alum foil(Grr!hits as silver dollars), about 1000 nails, Christmas ornaments, copper wire, window counter weights.

Well good thing is that once you clear the top trash you might find something older...
