Sources: NSA Targeting Credit Card Use

by Elizabeth Sheld 7 Jun 2013, 2:09 AM PDT

The WSJ is reporting that in addition to monitoring cell phone records, emails and web activity, the National Security Agency is monitoring credit card transactions. "NSA has established similar relationships with credit-card companies, three former officials said."

The arrangement gave the NSA records of the location of the caller, number called, time of call and call duration of Verizon customers. "It couldn't be determined if any of the Internet or credit-card arrangements are ongoing, as are the phone company efforts, or one-shot collection efforts. The credit-card firms, phone companies and NSA declined to comment for this article."

Well, bet they ain't gettin no info on ammo purchases...

If you use things like rewards cards, grocery store cards, etc, that you present to the cashier when you go shopping. What you buy is also kept track of.

Don't have any of those, I don't even use my checking acct., except when absolutely needed, pay cash and run. Hope they can't trace that, but not sure!

Nope, not unless the store is like radio shack that wants your name and number just for buying a package of batteries:laughing7:

On the rewards cards, I use them every time. What I do is take the card & form at the register, get the discount and then go home and throw away the forms, never fill them out....
