I have done my own research (I'm definitely not a professional) but I read that Ponce De Leon went all around Florida and up into Charlotte Harbor and all through that area north and south. We all know about how there are so many shipwrecks off the other coast of Florida but what about the west coast? I have not found a lot of evidence to support my claim but always thought it may a possibility though. Anyone's opinion is welcome and I am a young treasure enthusiast just welcoming other opinions.

Welcome to Tnet .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. :hello:

Alex there are dozens of shipwrecks on the west coast. Problem is that the shifting sands will cover a wreck completely. Also any wreck from the 15th or 16th century would leave any survivors with an impossible task of getting back to St. Augustine. There is very little archival documents of west coast shipwrecks.

Thank you for your response, I have not found a lot of actual hard evidence of there being shipwrecks but I had always felt like they were there.
