I found the hipmount to make life easier. It allows me to hunt for longer periods of time.

You can get a small tool pouch that fits on a belt from Homedepot or Lowes that the controls will fit in, get a single pocket if you do not have a meter and the dual pocket if you have the meter, you can take your controls in to find the perfict fit...

Personally I hang it from my neck when I am hunting. but I have seen some nice setups using the pouches...

The Patrick meter mounted where the speaker goes is a great meter if you want one, he was the maker of the Patroit meter, best meter ever made for the Sovereign....They are no longer made, and next to impossible to find. I have one myself and it took me over a year to find it looking constantly for it. I rarely use it since I am primarily a beach hunter, but have it if I want to use it...

One of the best mods you can do is get a WOT or SEF Butterfly coil for it... :icon_thumright:

If you plan to beach hunt you will really enjoy the extra depth and coverage of the WOT or SEF. I also use the neck mount with either the Minelab bag or one I picked up from Lowes that has two pockets, one for the controls an another for the Sunray S-1 inline probe. This is like having a 1" coil with a range of about 7". Probe runs off the detector batteries and controls so it is the ultimate sniper coil. This detector can get heavy after a few hours and hanging it from the neck is a huge difference in your fun. I never liked the meter as I am better with the ears. It nulls on most of the iron so I usually dig all else.

One thing you gotta do is take it to clean ground and lay down a iron nail and wave the coil over it with Iron Mask turned on. Now set a gold ring thru the nail and wave the coil over it again. Hear that sweet sound? That is the sound of gold.

Sandman, Wayne P, Treasure_Hunter, thanks for all of those great ideas.
