Not even Convinced it is my Coil yet.
Both 8" concentric & WOT acted up too
But don't remember if I Tried them without
the Meter :dontknow: actually think I Did
unless My Sunray Probe went bad Too :dontknow:

Too many Variables

Don't know if I Should be P.O.'d , Upset, Or
Highly Dissapointed :tongue3:

Re: Couldn't wait any longer / Sovereign Out for Repair

This is hurts as bad as losing your pet. I hate to hear this. I'll keep my eye out for a good used xs2 pro. You can use my machine until you figure out what your going to do.

Re: Couldn't wait any longer / Sovereign Out for Repair

Where are you from in PA? I'm from Lancaster County. You could get an old Sovereign again.

Re: Couldn't wait any longer / Sovereign Out for Repair

That's the trouble with the older ones Minelab will not fix them so you will buy a new one......... I have a freind that Minelab said they could not repair his........ So he called Keith Wills at 1-903-734-7773....his web site is www.brokendetector.com Keith told him he does not work on Minelabs Minelab will not give him parts.... My buddy said will you just look at it for me begged him........And at last Keith said if you send it to me i will take a look at it...... And guess what Keith fixed it..............After Minelab told him they could not........... It was a Sovereign the first sovereign from 1991.......... it pays to be persistent..............

why cant they fix it? cant you use any bbs sovereign coil or a sef coil??? meters are very easy to replace!
chuck.

Yea Lets just Say I Lost alot of Respect for their Service
Policy.

I Requested they Put a New coil on,

He raised his Voice & Sternley/Rudely
(Hard to tell which on the phone)
& said NO We can't replace Coils
on Detectors. We promised our Supplier We would
Only Replace them on Detectors Under Warranty !

Guess what For Optimum Use
a coil should be Tuned to the detector ! Now What ?
Send it in for another 45 Days or So
after I Buy a Coil ?

On the Meter he said I Can put in an Order
& If they ever get some In :dontknow:

The Sovereign XS 2 Pro was the
Best Sovereign Series Detector out there.
They should be able to repair Them.

I Still Like My Minelab, but at this point
their service leaves Alot to be Desired !

Yes there was No Charge.
But after 45 Days or so Sitting there,
I Would have Preferred A $300 Dollar Charge
& A working Detector Back !!!!

that makes absolutely no sense!!!!!!!!! so, once your warranty is up and your coil fails, they wont repair it?? minelab really needs to respond to this!!!!!!!!!

jeff, post this info on every forum you can think of!! buy yourself a new or used coil, i can highly recommend the sef coils!!!!! and replace it yourself, its very easy!!! as far as needing to be re-calibrated....ive always wondered about that but how many times do people swap coils and get great performance.... allot!!!!!! and for those that have interchangeable coils 4", 8", 10", 12" and so on, they dont send the detector in every time they want to use a different coil!!!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Like i said before they don't want to repair them they want you to buy a new one...... I have used there detectors since 1992 and give up on them.............. They are not nice people to deal with......... You should try Keith Wills you got nothing to loose but could get your detector working again.......... I can remember when Minelab was good to deal with always got stright answers was nice on the phone a joy to talk to................. Now i can't say here what i think of there service and phone manners.........There not like they was at one time they get worse every year...............

I might be talked into selling my Elite also. Box and battery + charger. It has the Joe Patrick meter mod. Just another option for you only. Just in case you can't get your box to work. Got to keep you in the Sovereign family. I'll check back here in about a week.

I know how you feel about loving your Sov......Never know something good might come along for you soon, everyone is due to have good luck from time to time.....I know on another website's for sale forum a XS 2 PRO just sold for $375 plus shipping last week......I did not know the condition of it or the seller though, so can't say if it was a good or bad sale......

I know that contrary to what some might think or say Minelab is trying very hard to regain customer's confidence.

Good luck to you sir....... :icon_thumright:

Yea I Just missed one on Ebay By $5.00
last Week, had the 10" Coil & a meter
which are Important to me.

Their snipe Bid was apparenly the only one Higher Then Mine.

unfortunately $400.00 is My Limit at the Moment.

Winter keeps Hangin' on & Heating & Electric
isn't Cooperating :tongue3:

I know what you mean about the utilities, my electric bill last year was running me $400 a month during the hot months which is usually from May through Sept at least down here, and then usually Dec thru Jan maybe mid Feb for the cold months it would be $300 a month....... My AC was 20 years old, so I had a new ac with heat pump installed for $5000 and after it was installed my electric dropped $125-$150 a month, plus it blows ice cubes at me. I bet I save $1500 a year on my electric this year, plus I am getting a $1500 tax credit on my federal tax this year so actual cost out of my pocket will be $3500, I should recoup my costs in two years, and in July it will be the first year.... ;D
