Sovereign XS-2 Coil

Anyonearound the Central MA area using a Sovereign. I'm having a small problem with mine which I believe to be the coil. Someone wanna let me try a coil for a few seconds? My detector works well but ID's a US Quarter at 250 no matter what. It ID's all coins correctly when I cal to 550 on a dime.

I saw your postings about that on findmall. (Missed your request there though.) That's really odd behavior. Doesn't make any sense. Did you not send it off to Minelab after all? BTW, does the quarter sound right or is it a low tone?

I have a Sov but I'm in eastern MA (roughly 10m nw of Boston). PM me if I can help. Can't meet halfway right now because my Jeep's still in the shop (but not for much longer--finally!). Otherwise could try to find some place to detect in between and kill two birds with one stone. (There's a place near the NH border about halfway out there I saw cellar holes at years ago while fishing I want to go try sometime.)

I bought a XS-2a off Ebay. It came with the BBS 800 and 1000. Both detectors work great with the two coils. I can turn my sensitivity up now and be stable without constant falsing. It also ID's a quarter and large objects correctly now.
