Found this yesterday during a morning beach hunt. Looked like a treasure hunter had his prized find made into a pendant. I was thinking wow, some poor sap found this on the beach and then lost it years later only to be found by another treasure hunter. I don't take my reading glasses while on the beach, so I didn't realize it was a cheap tourist copy until I got back to the truck and saw the obvious seam. Disappointing to say the least. Looks like an imitation of a Spain Philip II gold Cob Escudo ND (1556-98) Seville mint. Wonder why they put the 1822 date on it?
