A friend of mine took me and my boy up above Kernville, Ca. to show us something of interest. The last picture shows the reinforced Spanish trail and a stone waterway built underneath for erosion control. Further up the trail but not in this pic is another. We didn't get a chance to get down to it but I'm sure there's no gold down there! :)

In the mid 70's I got up around Kernville a lot. Do your homework, there are several viable treasure story's about the area.

We did occasionally find some interesting color but the best money maker was from the locals that had a trap shoot on weekends. A lot of side betting went on and it was a rare visit that didn't end up paying for the weekend and some extra (be good with a shotgun though, some of those old boys were).
