spoon marked alaska..

today i found some table spoon with the only mark is the word alaska...they ring real nice any info...i left em in the truck so no pics yet....

Do you mean the backmark is Alaska? Waiting on pics. :)
 

Once upon a time "Alaska Silver" was a Sears & Roebuck's trade name for white metal flatware produced in the late 1800's and the early part of the 20th century. Since it has been illegal for many years to mark anything silver that does not contain a certain minimum amount of silver (I forget how much), I would guess these are a set of spoons sold by Sears, made from white metal, that postdate the days of their "Alaska Silver" marks. They had several markings over the years in their Alaska silverware. Here is a page from an 1897 sears catalog explaining the Alaska silverware-
