Good day all. I am on a new property in an area surrounding Gettysburg that was hotly contested, camped and covered in 1862 and 1863. I found this spur on a piece that has a civil war plaque. I've researched but am trying to get a definitive answer from well versed people here. Is there a possibility that civilians used spurs like this or am I going down the right path of Federal enlisted Cavalry?
Confederates swept through in 1862 on farm raids, and again in 1863 before heading to Gettysburg nearby, and by both sides on the way out.
