Near Richmond va
Found my first full spur today. It’s heavy, which could indicate military, but I have no idea. It has a makers mark on the inside at the back. Has been worn, but can still make out most letters (I think). Anyone have any ideas on time frame, where made, or if civilian/military? Found near Richmond Va. site has produced a fair amount of CW items. Specific spot was known active 1840 onwards, but sites within 1 mile date to early 1700s.

Id say figuring out that stamp would be your yellow brick road. Beautiful find

Agreed. I have tried finding an id. Its either not that easy or I’m not that smart…..could be a combination of both.

Vertical stamp is for Oregon
He started his shop up in Portland in 1915.
@ncsuwolf there's no online ref.for the actual stamp though it seems

Presumably 'CIN.O' is for Cincinnati, Ohio. Doesn't seem to be any record of him working there. Other marks he used are documented at 'oldspurs.com':
