Square chain links?

I found these today in a wooded area that I am guessing used to be a farm. Can anyone tell me what the square chain looking items are? Thanks. SOLVED Thanks!

that looks like tumble bug chain to me. A tumble is a manure spreader, around the turn of the century i would bet. Out west it is usually in a little better condition. Don't' let this be the last word tho.

If not to a manure spreader some other piece of farm equipment, like a conveyor for the hay bales
