That is a Awesome pic and they all are Rattlers. I have never seen that many adults in a den,I found a bunch of babies and a mother once of Copper heads and that was plenty for me.

How cool would it be to put on snake boots and walk through that mess of rattlers. Scary? Nah.

Ummmm..... I will never metal detect in Salt Lake City or its suburbs. That is some tough hunting grounds!

Boy those are some great pics. I thought rattlesnakes were solitary animals. I would hate to be the poor guy/gal, that was walking and accidentally stepped in that hole.

Looks like a couple of them are posing for the picture.

Only the poor snakes den up during the winter. The rich ones go to warmer climates, sip pina coladas and enter sun tanning contests......I believe a Western Diamondback
took second place in the George Hamilton Cocoa-butter Open at Palm Springs last year...

Not a problem. You can get guaranteed snake boots. If a snake bites through them they give you a new pair!

I have only seen that many snakes at one time before (outside of glass) when I was a kid Bob Jennings had a animal segment on the Forman Scotty Show ( Oklahoma) and he came here with animals for the Boat Show he was in a inclosuer of ply wood about 4 foot high with them and had to keep pulling them down (they would get on top of each other to try and get out.) I thought it was really cool!

No. They taste like snake.

I think they taste like a combination of duck and rubbery chicken, with a little clam added. (different than chicken, but may be how its prepared, too).

A guy I know does the rattlesnake hunt every year, and does a snake-roast every year - he does a different recipe every year. One year, it tasted like octopus. I wonder if its different if they are young or old snake?

And some variation may happen with where they live desert or woods ect. Like with deer. The deer taken out in the woods compared to deer that are raised eating a corn field and of course how they are cooked Yummmm!

Thats why I always where snake boots!

Cool pictures, so your sister took them? I take it she's not afraid of snakes then!

everybody needs a little snake now and then
