Well sir. That is a 1943 Liberty "Walking" half dollar. I cannot do a good picture grade as the lighting isn't that great also you do not have the reverse side of the coin pictured. Check the sandals. Look for the vertical lines in dress. Plenty other things to take into consideration as well. To be honest I think it's worth the most as melt weight. Or sell to a collector for a few dollars over melt value would seem about fair. Hope this helps!
 

You can get a pretty good idea checking ebay. There are quite a few listed there presently. good luck
 

Common date/mint walkers in G / VG cond. (as yours seems to be) around $10/$12 a piece. eBay sellers are way over priced because most offer "free shipping" with the purchase of a coin but believe me - the price for shipping is built into the price of the coin as well as are the listing fees and ending (aka -FVF) fees and paypal fees too.

Neat find though!
