The Phönix Shipwreck Project.
Phönix 1881" is ongoing underwater research project. Ss Phönix sank in January 1881 in Snaefellsnes, Iceland. In april 2009 the wreck was discovered, after 130 years in the bottom of the sea. The search took 3 years by the divers, Arnar Egilsson, Eggert Magnússon and Eiríkur Jónsson. Dive team from sersveit Rls assist with the search. Underwater archaeologist Magnús A. Sigurðsson is leading the project. This is short introduction of the search.
