I'm looking for input on this discoidal or pendant. Found in Western NC. Thanks.

That's a really nice find! Looks like it might be a little large to be a pendant.
 

Looks like possibility of a damaged discoidal. Maybe plow damage..?
 

If it's a chunkey stone, it would be of the large variety. And yes they did make chunkey stones out of softer materials like soapstone and sandstone, not just "hardstone". The drawback is the evident as they would break easily. From the pics it looks like the damage is not modern?
