Sterling script "B" - Military? Date Range?

I found this silver script "B" this past weekend along with many other relics in a small area. Some of the people I was detecting with feel it is military in nature, perhaps a regiment letter. They think it may be post Civil War, maybe Indian war in age. I was hoping some of you t-netters could confirm for me and maybe even point me to some documentation to confirm that this is military in nature.

I'm going to post the other finds I found that day just to put this item in context with the other type of items I was finding near it.

Thanks for the help.

I wonder if they were on the suspenders?

It certainly looks like a hat badge. Ornamental script 'B'. I would guess Company B. Being silver, probably an officers badge.

Other relics are mostly post-Civil War. 1890's - 1910's. I'd start with local militia units.

dang, google is failing me. Could it be earlier than the civil war, a lot of the images of company letter hat badges I am finding are of block letters rather than script. I know the script was used during the revolutionary war, not saying this is that old, but maybe after it?

You have a room key fob, which makes me curious if it was more of a building marker. As in your room is #132 in building 'B'.

Ok, sorry I should have clarified, all these items I found on the same day which is why they are in the same photo, the silver pendant, the room key fob, and the brass ring were found at a resort that was in operation from 1882-1965.

All of the other items were found at an old farm dating back to the early 1800's, it is now a restaurant.

Sterling Victorian monogram letter B pin comes up with some similar items. This could just be some Victorian "fancy" for someone whose initials contained the letter B.

It is the wire fastener that says 'hat badge' to me. If it were Victorian, I'd expect it to have a pin back.

I looked for a while and didn't see anything close except for a British cartridge box badge:
