Found this where we've been finding a lot of civil war bullets and some other civil war items. It was deep about the depth we've been finding our bullets.
Could this have come from civil war era? Any thoughts on a time period this could have come from?

I was curious as to when French hook or "fish hook" earrings were made but it appears they go back thousands of years.
If I had to take a stab at dating this I would say it's from the early 20th century.
Cool find.
Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks!! That's about the time frame we were thinking. Most the other stuff found from this area was our civil war bullets and other civil war odds and ends.I was hoping somebody would recognize the design on the earring and say maybe older like the civil war era?
Either way it's a pretty cool earring and happy to have found it.

I'm thinking that the earwire is modern (from the shape of the hook, the wrap), but the heart may or may not be. I take all sorts of things and put them on modern earwires... My grandmother's earrings were screwback or clip on, just FYI.
