Sterling Silver Flintlock Barrel Sight

What an amazing day, found some record coins and even a bucket lister for me but this find takes that cake.

Originally I thought it was a sterling cuff link, but there’s no hole in what I assumed was the shank. Then I notice this odd curve in it which you can tell is purposely done.

After a bunch of digging and research it turns out this tiny gem of a find is the barrel sight from a flintlock pistol or rifle.

The last pic is a similar one I found at an online resource.

That is a very cool find. I don't ever recall seeing one posted before. Big congrats, and extra bonus points for figuring out what it was.

I keep trying to imagine what the pistol could have looked like all decked out in silver. Had to been very expensive for the time.
