still finding stuff in my dad's yard.
I found my first barber dime and first sterling jewelry at my dad's house yesterday, also the copper sheeting (cut with shears), which was about 12" deep. The spigot came up yesterday too, everything else in the photo was found over the last 2 weeks. Amazing how I missed all the good stuff when I checked this yard a couple years ago (I was basically testing machines I bought at yard sales to sell on ebay back then.). Yes, that's how I got hooked, testing machines to sell them. I checked the next door neighbor's yard briefly, but only found some clads in her swale and zincs in the yard - maybe will be like my dad's yard-find stuff later?
I asked an estate sale agent, who I've bought a bunch of stuff from before to sell on ebay, if I could check the swale at the house he was selling and holding the sale at, and he was thrilled. He was so excited when I found a penny and then a clad quarter I gave them to him. He says he wants to go detecting with me as soon as he gets a machine within a couple weeks. I hope I can check some of the older estates he sells; he does seem to get some of the older homes in the area.
