🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Stirling Silver Hair Clip?

With the ground in the woods finally diggable, me & Steve hit the colonial farm Saturday for a few hours. Just before leaving I found this ornate piece. Everyone I ask says hair-clip, I don't get how it works but what do I know about women's hair clips. I searched 50 different name combinations but don't see anything like it. As a last resort I'll ask here.

Seems like my Mom had something like that when I was a kid,but not as ornate.This would have been around 1955 but I don,t know how long she,d had it.Yes,a hair clip in her case.
