Was on a hiking trip and found this gem. Pictures do not do it justice. It has been broken from another piece of petrified palm wood, then one side knapped. When held in the right hand, the flat side is down and the cutting side is to the left.
Not sure if this was suppose to be a spear head, or some type of stone age knife / fleshing tool. Due to the size and shape I am going to guess fleshing / skinning tool.
Measures around 4 inches long.
If anyone has input please share. This is my first type of find like this besides the basic arrowhead. I know it looks like a piece of rick, but there is knapping along the side.
Location is Southeast Texas.
