I found this on a rocky beach near Greenport, Long Island, NY. It sure looks like a stone hammer to me but I have not been able to find anything very close to it online. I even brought it to the Museum of Natural History in NYC and they couldn't help. It measures about 2" x 2" x 1.5" and weighs 5 ounces. There's a hole in the center that has a small stone wedged inside. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Haven't a clue what you have here but it is still a nice find John O!

Maybe a geo fact John. Not sure the material or shape would hold up to being a hammer. I may be wrong though. Worth picking up though.
