Looks like he is kneeling over something.

Free-- Take this picture and enlarge it!!!!! the left arm of the Brave/Chief points down to his foot. Ok, there's a set of stones at the base that form a "U" kinda and inside this is a very large cross and it's corners are a perfect 90 degrees. You can only see the right arm and the top 1/2 of the cross. there's a owl that's blocking the view of the full cross. He lays a cross the other arm and bottom 1/2. I am guessing about the bottom half being there since I can't see it. Good luck !!!

Jacko

I didn't think I'd be able to see the cross in the picture but it's there in light blue color.

I did not see any cross in blue all I saw looked like a small tree or a bush on top of hill really not a clear photo but I thought that I would throw my two-bits in :-\ :-\ Buck

Thats a good enlargement Jacko, i see most of what your talking about. I should of took the photo on the way in there and not the way out. The sun had moved and lessened the effect. I questioned even parking for this photo the road is real winding and chance of a car coming up too fast was there. The road use to be a old stage coach road. I will try to get other photos when I get the chance.

buck-- Here's the photo cropped, and the cross in yellow. All 3 large rocks (arrows) have a tree cut to a sign. the one on top this Indian looks like a TV with antannas. There is no cross on top of hill. just to the right of the cross is 4 very deep and wide lines.

I see it now Iwas a looking at the top of the hill across from the Indian My mistake :-\ :'( Buck

I see what the chief is kneeling over! its a table, and he is counting all the casino money! ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, good picture. I would recommend going back and taking pics on the hour from 10AM, 11AM, 12, 1PM, 2PM. Depending on the maker and the reason for making it, seeing it at different times of day might reveal neat things. If it were Spanish, they built their monuments to be seen at high noon. The chief could also cast a shadow sign only visible at a certain time of day at a certain time of year.

One thing different tribes would do is make monuments such that when the shadow from the top of the chiefs head touched a certain rock, it meant it was time to plant or harvest corn (not always treasure). Sometimes shadow signs would tell them when to leave their camps, so they could make it to Southern Winter Camps before the snow trapped them, or even when to go into the mountains to hunt buffalo or any particular seasonal animals.

Good Luck

Mike
