My buddy (an avid fisherman) found this on the river bank. Knew I liked antiquities so he gifted it to me. I'm a civil war guy, and while I like projectile points etc., I know little about things like this. It certainly appears to be human-knapped. Any ideas on what it may be?

It's probably a knife. The other thing it could be is a preform but I'd guess knife. Nice piece.

I’d say a nice quartz knife , I live in Maryland and have found several just like it
