My dad purchased this pipe at a flea market because he liked it, but based on your opinion, does it appear to be authentic? I prefer to find my own artifacts that way I know they are real, but I still enjoy this piece regardless.

What did he pay? I don't like it. Very odd style and material. My opinion is modern from what I can glean from your pictures.

I have to go along with what Grim said, but the only way to know for sure is to put it under a scope. With that much work done on a piece it would be real hard to remove all modern tool marks and like Grim said the style is odd, but if you like it that's all that counts. Just don't bank on it being very old till you have had it checked out.

I'm not really sure. We bought this about 10 years ago at the local flea market. It wouldn't have been more than $10 though. I've never found any hardstone artifacts myself.

That should tell you all you need to know. That Pipe would go for hundreds, if not thousands on dollars if real.
