There are only three minerals that fluoresce shades of violet;
( Hardystonite ) ( Margarosanite ) ( Rubellite ).
You did not say if you used a Short Wave or a Long Wave light.
there is a difference.
Hardystonite; S.W. Fl. = Strong blue L.W. Fl. = rarely blue
Location found: Franklin N.J.
Margarosanite; S.W. Fl. = soft blue-white to violet
Location found: Franklin N.J.
Very rare mineral found in the early operations of the Zinc mine
at Franklin. Daylight appearance is white to transparent with
plates of a pearly luster.
Rubellite; S.W. Fl. = S.W. Fl. = Lavender, violet
( Tourmaline ) A Red Tourmaline
Location found: Pala, Calif.; Newry Maine; etc.
Hardness; 7 / 7- 1/2
This is most likely what you have based on hardness.
