its a,,,, stop your bull chit …. a chit is another word for token often workmen had to check out tools typically they were issued a company "chit" to exchange for the loan of a tool from the "tool boss" ...chit was hand in- tool was loaned out --upon return of tool- chit was returned .. if tool was lost or damaged --you had to pay for it (it also prevented theft of tools by those using them and made them accountable if someone else stole thru them being careless with the tool leaving it just laying about...and if at days end a tool was "missing" and not been returned to the tool boss --the tool boss had everyone show up and show their chits --he who did not have a chit upon him --when there was a missing tool was screwed (your wages got docked the tools cost and possibly you got fired as well),,,,no excuses worked ,,so "stop your bull chit"
