We went to the local supermarket today to get some super bowl supplies. In the parking lot on the way in I found a big, fat, black wallet. I opened it up and there was $275.00 in it. There was an id and several other items in there that would make it easy to return it to the owner but the wife insisted on returning it to the store. As soon as I handed it to the long haired, tattooed, pierced, heathen kid behind the counter I could see the wheels spinning in his head. I hope it all gets returned like it should. Oh well, at least mama's happy. When she's upset, the whole house is upset.

good for you sparky...honest and SMART....However I must take issue with your portrayal of the store worker....heathen would have sufficed.. ;D

the wife and i found someones cell phone in a shopping cart one time rather than taking it back to the store where it might get saved or not? we took it home and waited for someone to call it...30 mins later the owner called and we met at a gas station to return it, single mother really needed it ...good job good karma pay's off ya did the right thing!

Good job on doing the right thing. Giving it to the police would have been another option.

I once got a call in the middle of the night from the police while my wife was traveling out of state. Not the kind of thing you like to normally get, but they said she had left her wallet in a bathroom and someone had turned it in. Everything was there. Turns out that she was changing the diaper of one of our kids and the power went off in the bathroom. At least she grabbed the important thing (our kid)! She had to drive half way across the state the next day to retrieve her wallet, but she was more than happy to do that.

Thanks to the police and thanks to the honest citizen who turned in her wallet intact!

I hope the owner gets all his money back. You did the right thing by returning it. :)

Thank everyone!

I must admit, I was a little harsh on the description of that kid.

I've dealt with him in the past is why I'm a little prejudice toward him. He's done some real stupid things in the past. I'm not sure how he keeps his job.

One time my wife bought 10 bags of pellets for our stove and 10 bags of salt for the water softener, this guy loaded the truck for her. The wife and kids unloaded it all into the garage when they got home. After I got home I went to put it all away and discovered he gave us 20 bags of rock salt. Guess who had to load it, take it back to the store, unload it, load the right stuff then unload it and put it away once I got home.

Another time he lost 6 rolls of vacation film for us, I could go on and on. Now can you see why I'm so gruff?

We can just hope he returned the wallet with everything intact.
