Straight shaft for 705

Hi everyone,
Has anyone ever put a straight shaft on their xt 705? Stock curved item just in front of control box/handle is a bit ungainly. If anyone has, could you let me know which shaft fits and how it turned out. Better balance or other benefits etc. ? Many thanks, folks,

Changed my Xterra 70 to a straight shaft, makes it a lot nicer to swing with the 10.5" DD coils. Used a Whites M6 middle rod, just had to drill 2 holes at the top end for the locking pins as Minelab and Whites are 45 degrees off. The Whites middle rod is shorter and lighter, so unless you are real tall it really balances out the detector.

I have the Whites Middle Rod on both my 70 & 705, althou the 10.5 is only 3/4 of an ounce heaver than the stock 9" coil!!!
