Hello everyone!
It was another beautiful spring day here in Michigan, so of course, I had to get out and hunt. I tried to hit an abandoned golf course with my Ace250 but the driveway/parking lot was flooded, so I couldn't get in. I had a back up plan to hit a few schools about 12 miles from my house that were close to the golf course. I also brought my old trusty Garrett TR machine for romping through the woodchips. I hit three different schools covering the woodchip areas only in 5 hours hunting time. What a day. Not a lot of valuable keepers, but a couple and a ton of targets dug and put into the pouch, about 300. I was exhausted.
My best find is a 925 sterling ring that has an Arabic word on it, four letters long. I have no idea what it means. It's a men's ring and very thick, about 8mm wide. If anyone knows the meaning of the word, it would be appreciated. I also got some beading sterling pieces from a broken necklace. One cool find that may or may not be gold is a pendant or earring with a mother of pearl disc and a ball of 12 amethyst gemstones. It was about 4 inches deep, and has no discoloration, so it might be real. It's really pretty either way and a keeper. The ring at the top has broken off, so maybe that had the hallmark? I also got a sterling charm bracelet chain with a #1 charm.
I found a ton of other junk jewelry. 2 earrings, 4 pendants, 11 shoe fobs, 6 rings, 2 pins, 3 Chuck-e-cheese tokens, a couple chains, and a set of keys. The keys have their address on them - not too smart huh...lol. I also dug an interesting penny with a star shape stamped out of the center. Another find was a large Polish coin (I think) 20 Lorint.
Also a huge pile of clad, 210 coins total, and exactly $14.00 face value. A lot of digging today and yes, I was sore, my back mostly as the old MD'ing muscles are not quite in shape yet.
Thanks for reading and happy hunting to you all. It's great to be back out TH'ing again!!
