Strange Brass Item

Dug up in the woods near an old farm site. After buffing on a wheel, brass object appears to be Victorian era radiator valve or kerosene lantern part. Turned pieces screw together with a screen in the open end and a tube extending into the ball structure. Overall length is 4 1/2 inches. Online search comes up empty.

I believe Charlie is on to something. Put it together stand it up straight. put wine in the round ball, the hollow piece (the bowl) goes on top. The little nipple on the side is for the tube and mouth piece. You have a nice little water pipe !!! Tony

I found one yesterday little different then yours. It's from India. It's a Hashish or Opium Hookah. that's the third in a year. They must really be toasted and just leave them behind.
