strange coin asian brass / bronze has heart on one side / circle design on other

found a very odd coin about quarter size-- brass or bronze looking-- a bit thicker than a quarter--on one side in the center is a heart design --the inside of it is a checkered pattern -- then toward the out side of the coin is a round ring made up of a "L" shape linked end to end ---on the other side it has circles in a raised design very small in the center growing larger and larger toward the rim--it had no date or money value marked on it ---very odd doesn't look too old---looks asian to me. any ideas at all what it could be? sorry having camera problems will try to post a photo of it later.
