My wife and I made a short hunt yesterday evening which was a little uneventful until she came running back to me with this strange little copper container which has a small button for operating the latch. We are not sure what it was but is definitely a neat find. The can is about 4 inches in diameter and about 5/16 of an inch thick. I also found a small round lead ball which is roughly 5/16 of an inch in diameter and looks to be very old. Has the same patina as civil war lead balls but is smaller than the musket balls any help to identify these items will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all

I also thought that's what it may have been but it was pretty big for something like that but that's a very good possibility hopefully others will voice an opinion thanks for the help

Im thinking compact as well with the floral design. A quick search on eBay and I found a 4 inch compact. ♥ Vintage Antique 2-Toned Flapjack Compact | eBay You may want to search for the same type latch to seal the deal. Ir looks like remains the glue for the mirror and liner.

The lead ball is probably from a pistol. Need exact measurement with a caliper.
