Strange Looking Stretched Bullet

Here's another one from the pile. Not sure exactly how this happened, but this one got stretched! I placed a normal dropped three ringer next to it to show the difference.

I have been sitting here and looking at it and I am leaning towards it being heated almost to the point of melting and deformed as it cooled.

If so what caliber is it now?

Even though it looks flattened in the pic, it is still rounded and shows no sign of any carving, manipulation, etc. That's what makes me think it was maybe laying close to a fire and got hot enough to distort it, but not really melt it. This one was recovered around the Burnt Hickory area near Kennesaw Mt.
