Found this today and I'm curious what it represents. I think it is solid gold came out looking clean. The black is not metal under it looks like it used to have some sort of black enamel on it. The scratches all over show gold color under it and a dent on the side is of gold color too. It is heavy. Regardless if it is gold or not it is a odd and neat piece. mir_20210307_173000.jpg mir_20210307_172933.jpg mir_20210307_172915.jpg

Fraternal watch winder key. A lot of them are gold, but many just plated... I’ve squinted trying to make out a mark on the back, but no luck.

There are no marks. I was told it is a sorority from the University of Washington

mir_20210307_184958.jpg where it is chipped on the edge looks like whatever metal it is made of is solid all the way through

Thank you for the info. Makes sense watch parts are spread all over the field. I never find the case only the cogs and plate parts that hold the cog. First valuable part of the watch I've found. I'm guessing someone probably found the watch body long ago on the surface at some point. I doubt it's still out there
