Strange Ring

Found this ring last week in an old park about 5" deep. Stone maybe 1/4K diamond and the mount forms an "M"(?). From the M to the right it reads MAUBO(H)? From the M to the left the letters are a mirror image (reversed). What is it? Looking down from the top it looks nice. Looking at the side it's ugly! Tony

I've never heard of that hallmark, buit the setting looks pretty modern although its a bit hard to tell from the angle. If its a modern setting with no purity stamp, that not usually a good sign but I hope I'm wrong about the setting. The design does look older.
