Looks sort of like some of the fossilized whale bone we find here, on sites where I hunt for fossils and big shark teeth.

I'm not suggesting that's what it is, but it certainly looks like it could be a piece of fossilized bone or petrified wood, or something like that. That would account for its shape.

...and fossils are technically rocks.

Haha I can assure its some kind of rock the area I'm in had a lot of aboriginal activity so I think it could be part of a broken stone tool ???
A friend found a stone axe not to far away.

I agree. Looks like an igneous rock which has been polished on one side but not finished.
