Strap buckle?

While walking the fields yesterday I came across this little guy. It's about 2.5 inches long and 3/8" wide. My best guess is maybe a suspender strap? I'd be open to other ideas though. It was found in what I believe to be a small civil war camp site, or possibly a mid 1800's house site. I also found civil war era buttons, lead & coins. If you need any more information to help ID it please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Pretty sure that is a broken organ reed.

I have found quite a few organ reeds. I think kids played with them or something, as I find a lot near marbles and other stuff which would indicate a place that children played in.

I considered that, but the size of it threw me off. Like I said, it's about 2.5 inches long...I can't recall ever seeing a harmonica that big before. Did they make them that large in the past?

Oh heack, you're right. Too small for a pump organ. Squeeze box? (headscratch)
Harmonica reeds have always been one long piece as far as I know.
I would look into reeds for SOME type of air instrument though. Just my .02

Best guess is a trigger plate from old pistol/rifle............I've got one like it but smaller & believe that's what it's from.

Hey there Kuger,maybe you could help me out then? Does the ones above go to the same type organ as the two in my hand below with the one I posted above?I ask because it does not have the V cut in the end like the above ones and is made a little different.

Thanks there man yea I don't know squat about musical stuff either. I just can't find something like it in the organ department.I did think about the latch to a box like a jewlery box were a piece would slide in it to close but not sure about that either buddy.Anyway no biggie was just wondering.

Based on previous discussions of musical-instrument reeds here in the What-Is-It forum, the one on the left in your hand appears to be a version of Harmonium or Melodeon reed. See the photo below.
